I guess one of the down sides of living in a small town is that everyone gets everything that's going around. We especially have a hard time at our house because we have Olivia in the nursery at church, Ethan in preschool, and Jake teaches at every school in Northern Lincoln County so we get it all. I am actually surprised that we don't get sick more often! The last few weeks we have all had our sick days but Ethan and Olivia have definitely been hit the hardest.
The second week of February Ethan started acting a little sick and finally on Wednesday night he started running a fever. He came down from his room around midnight saying he couldn't sleep and when he climbed into our bed I could feel the heat radiating from him and knew he had a fever so we gave him some medicine and he ended up sleeping until almost 10:00am. I obviously wasn't going to send him to school like that so I had to come up with something to entertain him yet keep him calm and relaxed.
He started fevering not long after he woke up so he got some more tylenol with breakfast. He didn't want to watch any movies/tv but luckily my mom had sent a box of stuff down to us and it had an educational sticker book which kept him occupied for awhile and he also had the Friend to "read" too. (And yes, Olivia is reading the IKEA catalog)
Eventually the medicine kicked in and of course he was feeling much better and decided he wanted to build a blanket fort so he pulled every blanket out of our hall closet plus the extra pillows that we keep in there and piled them all up. It actually created a nice cozy little area and they ended up playing in and around it for the rest of the day.

At one point in the afternoon he took all the musical greeting cards we've collected and crawled inside his fort to play with them. About ten minutes later I noticed I wasn't hearing the cards anymore so I went over to check on him and he was sound asleep.
He looked so awkward and uncomfortable but I didn't dare move him so we let him nap there and he ended up napping for over 2 hours. What a nut!
